This flower is 9 rounds and measures about 2 1/2". The thread I used is Aunt Lydias size 10 thread in the colors maize, white, and myrtle green. The flower pictured is lightly stiffened with liquid starch mixed with water.
Materials
Flower
Rnd 1- With color 1, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook, sl st in first sc
Rnd 2- ch 2 (counts as first sc and ch 1), *sc in next sc, ch 1 repeat from * 4 times, sc in next sl st, ch 1, sl st in first ch, fasten off color 1 (there should be 6 ch 1 spaces)
Rnd 3- Join color 2 with a sl st in any ch 1 sp, ch 1, (sc, dc, ch 2, dc, sc) in same sp, *(sc, dc, ch 2, dc, sc) in next sp, repeat from * around, sl st in first sc
For round 4 insert hook in ch 2 sp of round 3 from back to front, and then into ch 1 sp, in back of work pull up a loop and make a sl st |
Rnd 4- ch 1, insert hook in next ch 2 sp from rnd 3 from back to front, and into ch 1 sp from rnd 2, sl st in back of work, ch 3, *sl st in next sp, ch 3, repeat from * around, sl st in first sl st
Rnd 5- sl st in next sp, ch 1, (sc, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, sc) in same sp, *(sc, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, sc) in next sp, repeat from * around, sl st in first sc
Rnd 6- ch 2, insert hook in next ch 2 sp from back to front, and into ch 3 sp from rnd 4, sl st in back of work, ch 5, *sl st in next sp, ch 5, repeat from * around, sl st in first sl st
Rnd 7- sl st in next sp, ch 1, (sc, 4 dc, ch 2, 4 dc, sc) in same sp, *(sc, 4 dc, ch 2, 4 dc, sc) in next sp, repeat from * around, sl st in first sc
Leaves
Rnd 8- ch 2, insert hook in next ch 2 sp from back to front, and into ch 5 sp from rnd 6, sl st in back of work, ch 7, *sl st in next sp, ch 7, repeat from * around, sl st in first sl st, fasten off color 2
Rnd 9- Join color 3 to any ch 7 sp, ch 1, (sc, 4 dc, 2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr, 4 dc, sc) in same sp, *(sc, 4 dc, 2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr, 4 dc, sc) in next sp, repeat from * around, sl st in first sc, fasten off
If you would like less than 6 leaves, on Rnd 8 (ch7, sl st in next sp) for the amount you want, ending with a sl st in next sp, fasten off color 2. Follow instructions for Rnd 9 and repeat (sc, 4 dc, 2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr, 4 dc, sc) in next sp for the remaining leaves, fasten off.
