Sweetheart Soiree

This textured doily has 23 rounds and measures about 10 1/2" in diameter. I used the first 9 rounds of the pattern for Frost Nova, which already had a few hearts, and added more to the outer section for a total of 24 hearts! Texture is added to the doily by working around the posts of certain stitches. There is a full photo tutorial for every round and detailed instructions on how to make the special stitches. If you would like just the written pattern, it's available here- https://www.draiguna.com/p/sweetheart-soiree-written-pattern.html

An ad-free printable version of this pattern is also available-

Blocking and Finishing
It is optional but recommended to block your finished piece. Fill a bowl with water and add some liquid starch if you prefer the doily to be lightly stiffened. Soak and gently press out any excess liquid, being careful not to pull or twist on the stitches. Lay it flat on a blocking mat and pin the doily working from the center out to the edges. Allow to dry completely before removing the pins.

    1. Hi! What size ring did you use for the dream catcher? I’m making a few as well for gifts using 12” metal rings. Would you mind sharing how you attached the doily to the ring since the doily size is much smaller than the ring. Thanks!

  8. On Round 11 it says, "3-dc decrease in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th dcs of the next 9 dc group on Round 9 directly below." Shouldn't that be the 4th, 5th, and 6th dcs, e.g. the middle 3 dcs on Round 9?

    1. Hi,

Yes, on Round 11 it should be the 4th, 5th and 6th dcs. I've updated the pattern to fix this mistake. Thanks so much for letting me know!

      Kind regards,
      Julia

  25. I'm stuck on round 10 where it says to do [BPdc, ch1] seven times. Is this supposed to be in the same stitch 7 times or in the next 7 stitches? I'm looking at the picture of the finished result of row 10 and I might be missing something in this step because it's not looking like in the picture on this step.Is there a video or somewhere that shows this row step by step?

    2. I just got done with Row 10. You just keep continuing in the next 7 dc. So in the 9 dc from Row 9, you'll do a regular dc in the first and last dc. In the 7 dc in between, you'll do [BPdc, ch 1] for each one. Hope this helps! It should look like the image provided below the instructions for Row 10.

    3. Hi, I also was confused about Row 10. How do you make the BPdc stitch?

  32. Thank you so much for this BEAUTIFUL doily pattern!! I made this using yarn instead of crochet thread because I wanted to see how big it would be for a floor doily and it turned out GREAT!! 45. Your style of pattern formatting is so helpful. I'm older and learned to crochet by written patterns, so charts are so challenging I have given up on them. Your method is helping me to understand the charts by following the written pattern at the same time as seeing the chart and also the actual crocheted piece. Thanks for your patient and clear teaching style.
