This textured doily has 23 rounds and measures about 10 1/2" in diameter. I used the first 9 rounds of the pattern for Frost Nova, which already had a few hearts, and added more to the outer section for a total of 24 hearts! Texture is added to the doily by working around the posts of certain stitches. There is a full photo tutorial for every round and detailed instructions on how to make the special stitches. If you would like just the written pattern, it's available here- https://www.draiguna.com/p/sweetheart-soiree-written-pattern.html

♥ Blocking and Finishing ♥
It is optional but recommended to block your finished piece. Fill a bowl with water and add some liquid starch if you prefer the doily to be lightly stiffened. Soak and gently press out any excess liquid, being careful not to pull or twist on the stitches. Lay it flat on a blocking mat and pin the doily working from the center out to the edges. Allow to dry completely before removing the pins.

So excited to start this. I'm going to make it into a dreamcatcher. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi! What size ring did you use for the dream catcher? I’m making a few as well for gifts using 12” metal rings. Would you mind sharing how you attached the doily to the ring since the doily size is much smaller than the ring. Thanks!
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful. Thank you for such a well illustrated and written pattern.

On Round 11 it says, "3-dc decrease in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th dcs of the next 9 dc group on Round 9 directly below." Shouldn't that be the 4th, 5th, and 6th dcs, e.g. the middle 3 dcs on Round 9?
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteYes, on Round 11 it should be the 4th, 5th and 6th dcs. I've updated the pattern to fix this mistake. Thanks so much for letting me know!
Kind regards,
Julia

ReplyDeleteI'm confused on round 4. Am I supposed to do 3sc,ch 3,3sc,ch 3 then slip stitch in that 3rd chain from hook? Then in round 5 do I skip the chain 3 space to skip 6sc?

DeleteI'm stuck on round 10 where it says to do [BPdc, ch1] seven times. Is this supposed to be in the same stitch 7 times or in the next 7 stitches? I'm looking at the picture of the finished result of row 10 and I might be missing something in this step because it's not looking like in the picture on this step.Is there a video or somewhere that shows this row step by step?
ReplyDeleteDid you ever receive a reply or finish the project?
DeleteI just got done with Row 10. You just keep continuing in the next 7 dc. So in the 9 dc from Row 9, you'll do a regular dc in the first and last dc. In the 7 dc in between, you'll do [BPdc, ch 1] for each one. Hope this helps! It should look like the image provided below the instructions for Row 10.
DeleteHi, I also was confused about Row 10. How do you make the BPdc stitch?
DeleteLindo, maravilhoso, obrigada pelo compartilhamento.
ReplyDeleteIs there a pattern to make this as a flat or edge lace?
ReplyDeleteLove this pattern. I'm having trouble on round 12. FPdc decrease in the two FPdc I get but FPdc in same st. I don't understand. What same st? Over the decrease I just made of on the 2nd leg of the FPdc decrease?

Hello.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pattern.
I have a question.
How do you count "80 ch-1 spaces" in round 10?
Thank you
I'm doing this a year later and have the same question! I only have 64 ch-1 spaces in Round 10. 8 ch-1 in each of the 8 fans.
DeleteDear Julia, thank you for this beautiful pattern. I would like to ask you for permission to translate your free patterns for the 1800 members of my Facebook group. Many love your patterns, but unfortunately do not understand the English language, so I would like to translate the patterns into Dutch, of course I mention in the translation that it is your pattern and refer them to your websites and if you want I can also send the translations, so that you can place them on your websties. Kind regards, Anneke de Wilde
ReplyDeleteHi Anneke, I was just thinking I needed this pattern in Dutch! What's your facebook group's name? I'd like to join. Tia! Belinda
DeleteHi Belinda, the name of my facebook group is : Van Diagram Naar Tekst

DeleteHi Belinda, does this mean that I get your permission to translate the free ones and if so, how can I send you the translation so that you can use them on your website?
ReplyDeletekind regards Anneke de Wilde
Hi Anneke. I'm not in a position to give you permission. I just stumbled on this pattern and got excited when I saw you wanted to translate it. I hope you get permission from the owner of this website, but unfortunatly, that's not me. Kind regards, Belinda
DeleteThank you so much for this BEAUTIFUL doily pattern!! I made this using yarn instead of crochet thread because I wanted to see how big it would be for a floor doily and it turned out GREAT!! Now I am using two strands of yarn to make it an even bigger floor doily and so far so good!! I'm LOVING this pattern more and more as I go! Actually thinking of making it in as many colors as I can. Thanks sooo much for the pattern!!
