The pattern for this heart motif has 11 rows and the finished size measures about 2 1/2" L x 4" W. I used Aunt Lydia's size 10 cotton in the colors- Cardinal Red, Orchid Pink, and Cream. This pattern uses most of the same stitches that are in the Sweetheart Soiree doily. Here is a link to the photo tutorial which has detailed instructions on how to make some the more difficult stitches-https://www.draiguna.com/2020/02/sweetheart-soiree.html

Blocking and Finishing
It is optional to block your finished piece. Fill a bowl with water and add some liquid starch if you prefer the motif to be lightly stiffened. Soak and gently press out any excess liquid, being careful not to pull or twist on the stitches. Lay the motif flat on a blocking mat and pin it down using rust proof pins. Allow to dry completely before removing the pins.

Love this! This is going to be one I keep on hand to crochet on when waiting at the doctor's etc. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI know I may be late to comment, but I do have a cute little idea you could do with these little motifs. I believe you can turn them into adorable little birds by making a small ball for the head and sewing it on the tip of the little heart. Maybe also have a thin wire going through the outer side that forms a big v so you can manipulate the wings to pose it. One could use it as a cute thing to decorate a gift or hang it on a thing of string and the like... Will definitely need to make it to see if it could be done. Thank you for sharing your stunning patterns~(^u^)
ReplyDeleteHello! I'm wondering if you have a pattern somewhere for the white doily at the bottom of the photo? I didn't see it in your paid or free patterns but I might just be missing it!
